A bullnose end mill can achieve higher productivity compared to a ball end mill when finishing slightly curved surfaces. The tool is always oriented along the surface normals. This strategy allows the curved surfaces to be machined with a consistent offset while the milling paths follow the selected guide surface. The side walls can also be machined with this strategy.

Shape Offset Finishing
Automatic pocketing on non planer surfaces with typical options found in 2D and 3D pocketing cycles. Finish the floors and walls as well with the selection of one cycle. Time savings gained in the programming process as well as machining time.
